1954 Jim Hughes Game Worn Brooklyn Dodgers Jersey. No National League pitcher made more appearances in 1954 than the original owner of this jersey, who took the mound sixty times, finishing forty-one and recording a league-leading twenty-four saves. Road grey flannel exhibits heavy wear from that campaign, and perhaps more in the farm system, with scattered staining, some loosening of the blue piping and very minor moth damage. Classic scripted "Dodgers" rises across the chest in blue, with number "18" similarly applied to verso. Interior collar holds blue swatch embroidered in white: "Hughes J size 44, No. 18-1954." A "Wilson" manufacturer's label appears to the right. A fine relic from the hard-throwing workhorse of the early 1950's Bums. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
