1954 Carl Erskine Game Worn Jersey. Dating to the sole All-Star season for this twelve-year veteran of the Dodgers organization, the presented home white flannel gamer provides a rare opportunity for the many collectors still mourning the loss of Brooklyn baseball over half a century later. The shirt survives in remarkably strong condition, lacking the damage common to the few remaining relics of the age. "Dodgers 17" is applied to chest in blue and red felt, with number "17" repeated on verso. Proper "Rawlings Hall of Fame Flannel [size] 42" label resides at interior collar, and "C. Erskine" is embroidered in blue thread at lower left front tail, matching known exemplars. Interior tail holds a washing instructions label and "Set 1 1954" flap tag. Completely original and unrestored, and instantly evocative of one of the most glorious periods in Big Apple baseball. LOA from Lou Lampson.
