1953 Hank Ertman Game Worn Boston Braves Jersey - Used in Spring Training Before Move to Milwaukee. Teams relocating hasn't always been an exact science. When the Boston Braves bolted for the greener pastures of Milwaukee in 1953, everyone was in limbo. After plenty of rumblings, the move became official March 18 when the Braves were playing the New York Yankees. Aspiring Big Leaguer Hank Ertman wore this "Horace Partridge size 42" jersey during Spring Training. He never made the trip north with the parent club though. The flannel zip-up has retained much of its rich colors through the years. "Braves", an underlying tomahawk and "12" are placed across the front. Black/red/black piping encircles the neck and races down the front. The back numbers are also original. The left sleeve is decorated with a 4" Braves team patch. One run (near the reverse trim) is found on the back shoulder. Four tags occupy the tail: Horace Partridge, size, "Ertman" and "53" (year). While one city's affiliation with the Braves was coming to an end, another was about to welcome the team with opened arms. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
