    Description

1951 Joe Tipton Game Worn Philadelphia Athletics Uniform. It must have been odd in the Athletics dugout this year, the first season for a half century in which the lanky, well dressed figure of Connie Mack wasn't present. Though the club's primary role at this historical juncture was as the American League's whipping boy, this is a franchise that still enjoys a strong collector following nearly six decades after abandoning the City of Brotherly Love. This is one of the most well-preserved uniforms we've ever encountered from the white elephants, effectively unchanged since Tipton wore it to visit Joe and Mickey at Yankee Stadium. Navy felt logo "A" appears over the heart with distinctive number "15" on verso. The rare and desirable American League Golden Anniversary patch remains affixed at left sleeve. Number "15" embroidered swatch is sewn into collar. Lower interior button path is tagged "Mitchell & Ness" and "MacGregor Goldsmith size 42" with "Set 1 1951" flap tag.

Matching pants appear to have once belonged to Allie Clark, as we find an embroidered number "7" swatch at interior, beside the "Set 2 1951" flap tag. "MacGregor Goldsmith size 38" label at interior waistband. Both uniform pieces exhibit game wear with an occasional minor stain, but present very well and survive as one of the very few known complete versions of this tough and attractive style. LOA from Heritage Auctions.

Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am regarding the sale of my hockey jersey. You were great to work with, you answered all my phone calls and e-mails in a prompt manner, and you did a great job marketing the jersey.
