    Description

1950's Stan Musial Game Worn St. Louis Cardinals Pants (2 pairs). We're quite confident that the fact that these pants were part of Musial's personal collection, and that the are appropriate in size for his build, would indicate that he wore them in competition, but in the interest of full disclosure it must be noted that his name or number does not appear within either pair. It was not uncommon in these days for pants to share owners when one pair was damaged and another had been abandoned as the result of a trade or injury of its original owner. Each is in standard road grey format with "Rawlings" labeling inside the waistband, and size "36" identifiers. Both are likewise tagged to the 1954 season, though it's entirely likely that the use extended beyond that season. One pair has an embroidered attribution to "G. Staley," a pitcher on the 1954 staff. Each pair exhibits solid wear but nothing that could properly characterized as damage. A very rare opportunity to own genuine game worn flannel from the greatest Cardinal of them all. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
Letter of provenance from the Musial family.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
