1948 Minor League/Industrial League Game Worn Red Wings Jersey & Pants. Post-war, home white flannel jersey sports a four-button front with double-track red piping around the collar and button path, and single track red piping around the sleeve cuffs. "Red Wings" is scripted across the chest with a full block "2" on the verso, are all sewn-on in soft pinkish-red felt. The left sleeve displays a well-worn, circular patch (since faded to a brownish hue) which appears to read "NY-P Federation 1948." The right sleeve is inhabited by a gray patch with red graphics which reads simply "PSA."

We do not believe that this is a Rochester Red Wings (International League) exemplar or a Hamilton Red Wings (PONY League) specimen because Rochester wore a different style uniform and Hamilton played as the Cardinals in 1948. Also, the origins of the sleeve patches have yet to be verified. Comes with matching pants, but neither piece contains tagging. Possibly a minor league or industrial league uniform. An attractive ensemble whose origins could become a lot clearer in the hands of a flannel enthusiast and/or master researcher. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
