1946 Nick Strincevich Game Worn Pittsburgh Pirates Jersey. Tough five-year style was in its final season of duty when it was owned and used by the big right-hander for the Bucs, who recently passed away at age ninety-six on the day of our last Signature auction (11/11/11). Let's honor him by achieving a solid price for this original and unaltered road grey flannel, featuring a fully operational zipper front that bisects a bold red and blue felt "Pittsburgh" on the chest. His number "22" is similarly applied to verso. Red and blue piping runs the perimeter of the collar, zipper path and cuffs. Interior collar holds "MacGregor GoldSmith size 44" label, and lower left front interior tail holds a diminutive white felt swatch with embroidered "'46" year designator. Solid wear is evident, but with none of the damage typically found with decades-old uniforms. A real beauty representative of the Steeltown style during the war years. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
