1946 Johnny Mize Game Worn New York Giants Jersey - Photo Matched! The only player in Major League history to hit at least fifty home runs and strikeout less than fifty times, Hall of Fame slugger Johnny Mize was a ten-time All-Star and five-time World Series champion despite losing three years of the prime of his career to military service in World War II. And despite the lost seasons, Mize still managed four home run crowns, three RBI titles one batting title and a career .312 BA.Presented here is The Big Cat's gamer from the 1946 season when he posted a .337/.437/.576 slash line. The jersey has been conclusively photo matched to an undated image.
Road gray flannel jersey sports raglan sleeves, original Talon zipper front and blue/red piping accentuating the collar, button path and sleeve ends. Best of all is "New York" arched across the chest and a singular "3" on the verso, all sewn-on in blue on red felt. Collar tags include a "MacGregor Goldsmith 44" label (black label, which debuted in 1946, has since faded) and a white felt swatch with "Mize" scripted in red chainlink embroidery.
