1946 Ellis Kinder Game Worn Jersey. He was known as "Old Folks," almost certainly because he was a thirty-one year old rookie the season he suited up in this road grey St. Louis Browns jersey to begin a twelve-year Major League pitching career. Though Kinder was no slouch on the mound, beating out the likes of Feller, Lemon and Newhouser to take The Sporting News Pitcher of the Year honors in 1949, most collectors will be drawn to this offering purely for the team it represents. St. Louis Browns gamers are very tough and desirable, and this one is 100% original, from the felt "Browns" that spans the chest, to the number "21" on verso, to the fully-functioning zipper on front. "Kinder 46" is embroidered in the tail with brown chainstitched thread. "Rawlings St. Louis" label in the collar is joined by size "44" and "Dry Clean Only" tags. Years of improper storage has caused the felt's dye to bleed into the grey flannel in places, but our catalog imagery should illustrate that the effect is not dire, and the jersey still presents very well despite this. A special piece from a long defunct squad. LOA from Lou Lampson.
