1946-48 Emil Verban Game Worn Philadelphia Phillies Jersey, MEARS A10. He drove in the World Series-winning run for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1944, and two to four years later he suited up in this gorgeous home white flannel in the birthplace of the Declaration of Independence. Appropriately patriotic red and blue felt announces "Phillies" across the chest and number "9" on reverse, with that color theme repeated in thick piping at collar and sleeve cuffs. Interior collar is properly tagged "Wilson [size] 42" above an embroidered "Verban 9" felt swatch. Solid game wear evident from the 1947 All-Star, with light staining at right ribs causing little distraction, as our catalog imagery should convey. One hundred percent original and unaltered. LOA from MEARS, A10. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
