1942 Dizzy Trout Game Worn Detroit Tigers Uniform. He won 161 games for the Tigers during his thirteen seasons in the Motor City, leading all American League hurlers in 1943 with twenty, and earning his first of four top twenty finishes in MVP voting. Here we present a home white flannel full uniform sported the season before his chart-topping campaign, a highly desirable war-years model bearing one of the most coveted patches in the hobby. That, of course, is the patriotic "Health" patch affixed to the left sleeve, the 1943 model in fact (the 1942 version actually spelled the word "Health," while the later versions replaced it with red stripes as seen here), suggesting at least two years of wear on the mound.

Logo "D" over heart and number "11" on verso are applied in navy felt, with navy piping running the length of the button path and collar of the jersey. Interior collar holds proper "Wilson" manufacturer's label and that of the "Lowe & Campbell Athletic Goods" local distributor. An embroidered swatch announcing "Trout" complete the collar labeling. Year of issue is reported with a red number "42" embroidered directly into the rear interior tail of the shirt, just below a "46" size designator. Matching pants are tagged at interior waistband in identical format to the jersey, with a size "40" flap tag added. Both garments exhibit solid wear, age toning and minimal spotting which cannot derail the wonderful period aesthetics. It's rare to find full war-year jerseys at auction, so take this offering seriously. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
