    Description

1940's Chicago Cubs Game Worn Jacket. This fur-lined blue wool beauty helped at least one Chicago player battle those cold and windy days and nights at Wrigley Field. A stunning circular "Cubs" logo resides over the left chest with red and blue stitching atop white canvas. The collar, sleeve joint, sleeve cuffs, and waist are adorned in red and blue ribbed trim. Also, the front pocket openings are lined in red leather. "Wilson" and "L" tags reside in the collar and a square white swatch, with "25" stenciled in black, is sewn at the base of the interior zipper path. Players who wore that number for the Cubs during the decade include Jake Mooty (1940-42), Eddie Stanky (1943-44), Stan Hack (1944), and Hi Bithorn (1946). The zipper is functional but the pull tab is not present and needs to be replaced. The rest of the jacket is in very nice condition and looks beautiful. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
