Description

1936 Charles "Red" Ruffing Signed Uniform Player's Contract. A rare pre-war New York Yankees Hall of Famer contract for the 1936 season is presented here, assigning a salary of $12,000 to the big right-hander who would win twenty for the eventual World Champions with the help of Lou Gehrig and a rookie Joe DiMaggio. The standard four-page document is signed in 10/10 black fountain pen ink by "Chas. Ruffing" and celebrated team owner Jacob Ruppert on page two. Hall of Fame American League president William Harridge signs his consent on page four. Original storage folds and mild handling wear are to be expected, but the contract otherwise presents flawlessly. A special artifact from the Yanks' most reliable ace during the 1930's. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
