Description

1935 Charles "Red" Ruffing Signed Uniform Player's Contract. The Yankee right-hander's earned run average of 3.12 for the 1935 season earned him the bronze medal, with only fellow Hall of Famers Lefty Grove and Ted Lyons posting superior marks in the category. Here we find the paperwork that secured Ruffing's services for that season for the salary of $12,000. Ruffing and team owner Jacob Ruppert sign their consent to the terms in bold black ink at the close, and American League president William Harridge signs the cover with 8/10 strength (Ruppert's autograph secretarially signed by Ed Barrow). Contract exhibits light wear on original storage folds, but no noteworthy flaws. An important document from a six-time World Champ. Be sure to see the other contemporary New York Yankees contracts also offered within this auction. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
