1930's Lou Gehrig Game Worn Stirrups. Presented is the very last item from The Lou Gehrig Collection, a phenomenal assortment of the Iron Horse's personal keepsakes left by his mother Christina to her closest friends upon her passing in the 1950's. Like another pair of stirrups presented in November 2011, we've been unable to positively identify the uniform of which this was once a part, but they're unquestionably Gehrig's, stored with his other various uniform pieces, autographs and personal items for decades before their consignment to Heritage. The blue and white striped wool pair exhibits solid wear but presents without any noteworthy damage. If a collector helps with identification during the course of the auction, we'll update this text online, so thanks in advance for any assistance. Letter of provenance from consignor. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
