1920's Vintage Game Worn Baseball Flannel Jersey.

UPDATE: This jersey has no size markings, but measures to a size 42.

A flannel relic from a long ago era when giants like Ruth, Gehrig, Hornsby, and Grove dominated diamonds from the Empire State Building to the St. Louis Arch. Although its origins still remain unknown, it was most likely used in a minor league, semi-pro, or industrial league setting.

This gray flannel exemplar with blue pinstriping sports a seven-button front with red and blue piping around the collar, button path, and three-quarter length sleeve cuffs. Best of all is the large blackbird perched on a branch, which is sewn over the left chest in midnight navy felt with white accents. Period tagging in the collar includes an "A.G. Spalding & Bros." manufacturer's label and a blank, rectangular cloth swatch. The specimen exhibits fine wear but is still in remarkable condition and displays magnificently. In the hands of a flannel enthusiast and/or master researcher, there is no telling what stories this exemplar still has left to tell. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
