Hank Aaron Ticket Collection including 100th HR, #714 And #715. Arguably the most closely watched pursuit of any sports standard, Hank Aaron's quest for the all-time home run title gripped the baseball world for portions of two calendar years. Having closed out the 1973 campaign with 713 career round-trippers, the soft-spoken Hall of Famer endured a lengthy off-season marred by death threats and the anticipation of returning to action. With the Braves scheduled to open the 1974 season in Cincinnati, team management considered benching Aaron so that he could accomplish the feat at home. But in the lineup under the orders of Commissioner Bowie Kuhn, "Hammerin' Hank" tied Babe Ruth's long-standing mark in his first at-bat of the season. Four nights later at Fulton County Stadium, the storied chase ended as Aaron turned on an Al Downing offering to shatter a record that had long been considered untouchable. Offered is a collection of mementos issued during those memorable contests. Includes: stubs from both the April 4, 1974 opener at Riverfront Stadium and the April 8, 1974 game in Atlanta, as well as a full ticket to the September 24th 1957 contest in which Hank blasted his 100th career Homer. This was his only MVP season, a year that saw the Braves win the World Series. And finally a press pass to the first Brave game played in Atlanta, as well as a Aaron Cooperstown ticket. paper loss on the reverse of the 714, and 715 stubs. 100th HR ticket is Mint.
