1996-2011 Mariano Rivera First and Record 602nd Career Saves Full Ticket Display with Signed Photograph.

UPDATE: First save ticket is in a PSA holder. We were unable to see the front of the slab without damaging the display, but we can report that only five examples appear on the PSA Population Report, all either NM-MT 8 or Mint 9. We guarantee that this ticket is one of those five. The 602nd save ticket is unencapsulated.

No player in history enjoys such a landslide consensus as the greatest ever in his chosen field of endeavor. No longer a matter of opinion, Rivera quite simply is the greatest closer of all time, his 652 career saves fifty-one better than runner-up Trevor Hoffman. Only one active pitcher, thirty-eight year old Joe Nathan, has made it halfway to Rivera's untouchable mark. It all started here, as the young Panamanian ace put the finishing touches on the Yankees' eight to five victory over the Angels on May 17, 1996, recording three outs in the top of the ninth at the Stadium to cue the Sinatra music. The owner of this ticket missed that first save, but this rare relic is now worth many times its $19 original sale price. Also enormously significant, but not quite as tough, is a full ticket for Rivera save number 602 to claim the all-time saves record. The NRMT tickets are framed with a signed 8x10"to final dimensions of 19x22", but we must report that the autograph failed authentication. It will be easy to replace it with an authentic specimen should the winning bidder wish to keep the display intact.
