1976 Los Angeles Dodgers Chicago Cubs Rick Monday Saves U.S. Flag Signed Ticket Stub, PSA FR 1.5 Auto 10. Rick Monday's act of saving a U.S. flag occurred on April 25, 1976, during a baseball game between the Chicago Cubs and the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium. Two protestors ran onto the field and attempted to burn an American flag, but Monday, then playing center field for the Cubs, sprinted over and snatched the flag away before they could light it. The crowd erupted in applause, and the moment was captured in photos that became iconic across the country. Monday's quick action made him a national hero, celebrated for his respect and patriotism both within and beyond the baseball world.Offered is a ticket stub to the game signed and inscribed by Monday.
