Description

1969 Tom Seaver 8 2/3 Innings Perfect Game Ticket Stub. Nineteen Sixty-Nine was the years of Tom Seaver. He won twenty-five games, the N.L. Cy Young Award and led the Miracle Mets to an unforgettable World Series championship.

If there was ever a pitcher and season destined for a Perfect Game, it was Tom Terrific in 1969. Then on July 9th, destiny perfection appeared to be unfolding in front of a Shea Stadium crowd of over 50,000 when Seaver threw 8 1/3 perfect innings against the division-leading Chicago Cubs. Then, rookie backup outfielder Jim Qualls broke up Seaver's bid for a perfect game when he lined a clean single to left field. Seaver finished with a one-hit 4-0 shutout.

Here is a raw ticket stub which was at that game. Exhibits light handling wear and tape is affixed to top and bottom borders.
