Description

1961 Roger Maris Signed Sixty-First Home Run Ticket Stub, PSA Authentic Auto 9--One of Only 2 Signed Exemplars in the PSA Pop Report! When ranking the most memorable moments in post-war baseball history in terms of fan attendance, the game that saw Roger Maris supplant the Babe at the top of single season home run ladder rates right at the bottom. The 1961 Yanks had wrapped up the American League pennant eleven days earlier, shaving the crowd for the final regular season game to just 23,154. So it's little wonder that stubs such as this rarely surface within the hobby, nor is it a surprise that bidding for the few available specimens is uniformly spirited.

What makes this specimen even more coveted is that the front bears a vintage "Roger Maris" autograph, applied in bold black ink. It stands as one of only two signed exemplars in the PSA population. The experts at PSA have graded the condition of this beauty "Authentic" and the autograph a "9." Also, the PSA label notes that the ticket has been "trimmed." Displays superbly. Encapsulated by PSA, Authentic Auto 9.
