    Description

1959 Harvey Haddix Twelve Perfect Innings Game Stub, PSA EX 5. Losses don't come any tougher than this. Pittsburgh Pirates southpaw Haddix retired the first thirty-six Milwaukee Braves he faced but lost the game in the thirteenth when the first batter, who reached on an error, was doubled home for the walk-off winner. "My main aim was to win," Haddix told reporters in the clubhouse. "I was more tired than nervous. All I know is that we lost. What's so historic about that? Didn't anyone else ever lose a thirteen inning shutout?" Just three stubs from this contest appear on the PSA population report, and this is the sole EX 5 example, with none superior. The greatest game ever lost. Encapsulated by PSA, EX 5.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
