Description

1956 World Series (Game Seven) Ticket Stub - Jackie Robinson's Last Game! Both the 1956 Major League season and the most important career in its history came to an end this day, with Jackie Robinson retired in a three-pitch strikeout to bring a merciful conclusion to a nine-to-nothing Game Seven victory for the hated New York Yankees at Ebbets Field. While every fan attending Opening Day at the Brooklyn ballpark nine years earlier had been fully aware of the supreme significance of that game, not even Robinson himself knew, as the forlorn home crowd headed for the exits, that he'd never again appear in a Big League contest. This was also the last World Series game ever played at Ebbets Field and the last "Subway Series" for the next forty-four years. A truly monumental event in Big Apple baseball history. Creasing and toning exhibited.

Guide Value or Estimate: $400 - up.
