1954 World Series Game One Ticket Stub, Willie Mays Makes "The Catch." On September 29, 1954, Cleveland Indian Vic Wertz crushed a Don Liddle pitch 420 feet deep in Game One of the World Series. With the score tied up 2-2 against the New York Giants in the eighth inning, all fans turned and watched as Willie Mays made an over-the-shoulder catch at the warning track, running full speed. The play held Larry Doby at third base and preserved the score at 2-2.

The ticket offered here admitted one lucky fan to this game, standing room, for $4.20. The stub exhibits creasing in a few spots, but all are very light and invisible upon a glance. the stub has been neatly cut off the ticket, with paper loss on the back side. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, Authentic.
