1948 Babe Ruth's Last Public Appearance Ticket Stub, PSA Authentic--One of Two Known. It's one of the rarest and most coveted tickets in a history that spanned over 2,500 Major League games and hundreds more appearances in barnstorming events, radio broadcasts and all manner of celebrity events. Just two stubs are known to survive from Ruth's very last public appearance, when a painfully gaunt legend took his final bows at Manhattan's Astor Theater on July 26, 1948 for the premier of the biographical film, "The Babe Ruth Story" starring William Bendix. The Babe would then retreat into seclusion for the final three weeks of his life, succumbing to his terminal cancer on August 16, 1948. The stub is torn by the usher but otherwise survives in fine condition, encapsulated as one of just two on the PSA population report. An unprecedented opportunity to bring a closing bookend to an advanced Babe Ruth collection. Encapsulated "Authentic" by PSA.
