    Description

1946 Jackie Robinson Minor League Debut Full Ticket. While April 15, 1947, the day that Jackie Robinson first wore a Brooklyn Dodgers uniform in a regular season game, is considered the end of the offensive and painfully ironic "Gentlemen's Agreement" of professional baseball, in point of fact it had been a year earlier that a Major League affiliate first fielded a black ballplayer. Again, that player was Jackie Robinson, who wore the uniform of the Dodgers' Montreal Royals farm club at an Opening Day visit to the Jersey City Giants. Several tickets have surfaced from the 1947 Opening Day at Ebbets, but this is believed to be the sole relic from the minor league debut.

It is accompanied by a signed letter of provenance from the grandson of the man who purchased the ticket on April 18, 1946 and cherished it for decades to come, considering Robinson a personal hero. The ticket exhibits a degree of handling wear, with a slight nip of paper loss at upper edge, but nothing that significantly detracts from the fine aesthetics. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the advanced Robinson collector. Encapsulated "Authentic" by PSA.
