    Description

1945 Mel Ott 500th Home Run Game Ticket Stub. Of all the milestones of immortality that dot the baseball landscape, none quickens our pulse quite the way the 500 home run mark does. Pitching may win ballgames, but the long ball wins hearts, and there isn't a little leaguer alive who hasn't dreamed of knocking one out of a big league park in the clutch. Mel Ott entertained crowds at the Polo Grounds for his entire twenty-two year career. The lucky patron who owned this ticket witnessed Mel Ott becoming the first Senior Circuit member of the 500 home run club. This ticket was issued Aug. 1, 1945, a 9-2 Giants win over the Braves. The front displays superbly while the reverse has adhesive and light paper loss. PSA graded the treasure PR 1 and gave a MK qualifier. This is one of only two ticket stubs from that day on PSA's population report. Encapsulated by PSA, PR 1 (MK).
