1943 War Bond Game Full Ticket--Babe Ruth Hits His Very Last Home Run. It was just like old times--Walter Johnson on the mound, Babe Ruth at the plate, and, a moment later, a home run ball dropping into the right field stands. Though the pair of inaugural class Hall of Famers were more than a decade beyond their respective primes, they had come together once again to raise funds for the war effort. Seven of the twelve living members of the Hall of Fame participated in the exhibition contest, which was preceded by entertainment and comedy from the likes of James Cagney, Ethel Merman, Cab Calloway and Milton Berle.

Sid Feder of the Associated Press wrote:

"There were still 35,000 lumps in 35,000 throats around the village Friday, all because a dozen old men walked out on a ball field. As they spread out on their regular spots on the field, the lump you got in your throat and the moisture in the eyes of some of the most blasé baseball writers in the press coop were more than enough to prove that the baseball fan is at least part elephant. He never forgets. It didn't matter that in fielding some of Babe's "practice shots" Murray fell down, Speaker was practically decapitated and Collins was all but carried into right field by a line drive. The folks had a look at 'em, and the Babe finally parked one. That was the icing on the cake."

It would prove to be the last of thousands parked there by the Sultan of Swat, inclusive of all exhibitions, batting practices and competitive games, but the owner of this gorgeous ticket missed it, leaving behind a relic that would one day serve as one of just five representatives within the PSA population. Light wear appears at the corners, otherwise no flaws of note. Encapsulated by PSA, Authentic.
