1941 Lou Gehrig Memorial Ticket Stub PSA 4 VG-EX. In many eyes, he is the greatest hero the game has known. Struck down in his prime by a crippling condition so rare it was named after himself (as the first celebrity to be diagnosed), Lou Gehrig fought with strength, grit and determination. Already one of the best the game had known, the statistics he might have finished with over a full career would have been mind-boggling. What an irony that the man they named the "Iron Horse" and who owned the consecutive games played record would fall to such a merciless disease.

The offered ticket stub is a constant reminder of Lou Gehrig's fight, and his farewell to fans. The memorial was held July 4th, 1941 and the ticket itself is one of the first ever to feature a player image on the actual stub. Hard to find in any condition, the ticket for auction is a phenomenal PSA 4 VG-EX for very slight corner and surface wear.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
