1931 Chicago White Sox Ticket Book. With an abysmal record of 56-97, the Chicago White Sox of 1931 finished 51.5 games back of the Philadelphia A's. Even Luke Appling, in his first regular season, only batted .232. If one good thing came about from this season, though, it may be the survival of this presented lot. With a successful year, this ticket book would have been used up and lost to history. However, likely due to the poor showing of the team, the owner of this ticket book ("E. Williams & Wife or Son") used just two or three tickets from the book, leaving the remainder intact and in booklet form. A very seldom seen collectible, this book has seventeen tickets remaining, all in stellar Mint condition. The covers show a little dirt and two small corner creases on the front, but overall would still grade Very Good to Excellent. A stamped signature of Charles Comiskey is added to the bottom of the front cover.
