    Population one of one!

1928 World Series Game Four Full Ticket, PSA VG-EX 4. Abandon all hope of building a complete run of Fall Classic Yankee clinchers unless you're the last man standing here, as the offered lot represents the entire known population of full tickets for the team's third trip to the Major League mountain top. The Bronx Bombers ran their World Series winning streak to eight with this victory on October 9, 1928, the first of three occasions in franchise history that the team would post back-to-back October sweeps.

This one had to be particularly satisfying, as it served up revenge to the St. Louis Cardinals, who had downed the Yanks in a heartbreaker of a Game Seven two seasons earlier. Babe Ruth, who had famously slugged three home runs in Game Four of the 1926 World Series to fulfill a promise to a bedridden youngster named Johnny Sylvester, matched the feat in this 1928 clincher, later characterizing his hat trick heroics as the biggest thrill of his career.

Over 37,000 fans passed through the Sportsman's Park turnstiles to see the final nails driven into the Cardinals' coffin, but the owner of this singular relic wasn't one of them, creating a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the advanced collector. The experts at PSA assess condition at a VG-EX 4 level, and while condition hardly matters when considering a population of one, we nevertheless report that the ticket's marvelous aesthetics far surpass the grade. We advise interested parties to examine our high-resolution online imagery to substantiate that claim.
