1921 World Series Game One Ticket Stub--First New York Yankees Fall Classic Appearance! Two major firsts to celebrate here. After two decades of existence (and eighteen in the Big Apple), the New York Yankees franchise made its Fall Classic debut on October 5, 1921, the day this ticket stub granted entry to Coogan's Bluff for a battle between Polo Grounds roommates and rivals. It would be the first of forty World Series appearances to date for the sport's most decorated franchise. A Babe Ruth single in the first drove in what would prove to be the game-winner in the three-to-nothing shutout of the Giants. Carl Mays, whose errant fastball killed Indians shortstop Ray Chapman here the previous season, earned the victory. The other first relates to the PSA population report, which stands at one for this contest (no full tickets exist either). The stub exhibits a degree of wear to be expected for its advanced vintage, but the scattered creases and edge wear cannot override the solid aesthetics, as our catalog imagery will attest. And, certainly, the intense rarity makes any quibbles about condition rather silly. Encapsulated "Authentic" by PSA.
