1919 World Series (Game Eight) Ticket Stub, PSA Good 2 - Pop Two, One Superior. With the possible exception of the inaugural Fall Classic in 1903, the most sought after and desirable World Series artifacts date to the scandalous October of 1919, when Shoeless Joe and seven Black Sox teammates conspired to take a dive for the money. Here we present a ticket stub used for admission to the deciding Game Eight at Comiskey Park in Chicago, the event that effectively ensured the impending doom of the Eight Men Out.

The White Sox starter for Game Eight, Lefty Williams was purportedly visited the night before the contest by an individual who threatened to harm him and his wife if he didn't throw the game early. In the first inning, Williams gave up four straight one-out hits for three runs, strong evidence of the conspiracy at work. In the third inning, Shoeless Joe Jackson hit the only home run of the series, but it did little to prevent the Reds from winning the game (10-5) and the World Championship (5-3).

Only six Game Eight exemplars currently reside in the PSA population, and this ticket's tremendous scarcity and desirability make it a "grail" for any serious collector of baseball tickets. The relic exhibits an area of paper loss and a crease at the bottom, but still presents cleanly with text as bold as it was over a century ago.
