1915 World Series Game One Full Ticket--Babe Ruth's First W.S. Game! The greatest name in the history of the sport appeared in forty-one Fall Classic contests during his storied career and made 167 October plate appearances, but here we present an exceedingly rare ticket stub for the game that started the tally on each. Ruth was a twenty-year old pitcher with just forty-seven regular season games of action under his belt when he was called up by Boston Red Sox manager Jake Stahl to pinch hit for pitcher Ernie Shore in the top of the ninth inning of the 1915 World Series' first game. Facing the great Grover Cleveland Alexander, Ruth grounded to first, bringing his Sox to within one out of the conclusion to their three to one loss to the Phillies.

The Sox would, of course, rebound to win the next four contests and claim the World Championship, but this ticket from their sole loss is far and away the most desirable from that important October for its Ruth association. The Babe would not again take the field in 1915. The ticket exhibits some creasing and paper loss, the latter primarily confined to the reverse where the signs of scrapbook removal are evident. Considering the enormous scarcity of the piece, however, such condition issues must be forgiven. Ticket is slabbed in an SGC Authentic holder for protection and unquestioned authenticity.

    Guide Value or Estimate: $6,000 - $8,000.
