The only known example!

1913 Brooklyn Superbas (Dodgers) First Game at Ebbets Field Ticket Stub, PSA Authentic. They were the most successful franchise in the National League during their final eleven seasons in Brooklyn, winning six pennants and a World Championship, but it still wasn't enough to stop the Bums from tying their bags to broom handles and marching westward for a new life amidst the palm trees of southern California at the close of the 1957 season. Sixty-five years later, ticket stubs from those last visits to the marble lobby and high-banked grandstands still commonly trade hands in the collectibles marketplace, but only a single surviving specimen marking the first Opening Day in Ebbets Field history is known to persevere to present day.

In recent years, it has been the 1947 debut of Jackie Robinson ticket stub that has found the greatest auction success from forty-five seasons of Ebbets box office sales, now trading hands at prices north of $100,000. But this singular rarity makes those younger siblings look downright common by comparison. Check the population report of PSA and you'll find a single entry for the entire 1913 season of the Brooklyn Superbas, and this is that ticket, from Day One. It presents beautifully despite a corner crease and minor paper loss on verso from scrapbook removal, clearly the key to its survival.

Ten thousand fans turned out for the home opener against the visiting Philadelphia Phillies, who scored the only run of the contest in the top of the first before an unbroken series of goose eggs. Casey Stengel played center field and batted first for the home team, sharing future Hall of Fame credentials with left fielder Zack Wheat. Team owner Charles Ebbets' daughter threw out the first pitch.

In the current sports collectibles marketplace, few commodities have performed nearly as well as rare tickets, toppling world records with increasing regularity. Driven by the same population-based mindset that has seen limited edition trading cards and NFT's soaring to new heights, these important relics are drawing more and more faithful adherents with every auction. This one-of-one witness to the first game at Ebbets Field will surely inspire a fierce bidding battle on closing night. Encapsulated by PSA, Authentic.
