1904-1928 Philadelphia Athletics tickets Lot Of 4. When the American League was formed, a decision was made to place a team in Philadelphia in 1901 to rival the National League's Phillies. The Shibe family who produced sporting goods, some local sportswriters and Connie Mack, who had played and managed in the major leagues, were chosen to found the Philadelphia franchise. Mack had the 1-2 punch of Rube Waddell and Eddie Plank, as well as Eddie Collins, and Home run Baker to carry those early teams to successful seasons. We offer 4 early ticket stubs, ranging from 1904 with the Athletics beating the Cleveland Naps, 1-0(Note Manager name on ticket Cornelius McGillicuddy, aka Connie Mack). The second ticket dates from April 18, 1925 with the A's defeating Washington 3-0. The 3rd ticket dates from Sept. 11, 1927 splitting a double header with St. Louis. The final ticket dates from Aug. 28, 1928, also comes from a double header in which the Athletics take 2 from the White Sox. All tickets have writing on fronts regarding final scores.
