    Description

1896 Philadelphia Phillies Ticket. Step back in time to 1896. The Gay Nineties were in full bloom with early motor cars, the first modern Olympic Games, and of course baseball.

In manager Billy Nash's lone season as a big league helmsman, his Philadelphia Phillies fielded Hall of Famers Dan Brouthers at first, Nap Lajoie at second, Ed Delahanty in left, and Sam Thompson in right. Meanwhile the pitching staff included names like Ad Gumbert, Bert Inks and Con Lucid.

The ticket (2.5x1") offered here, which would have gained you access to see all these stars perform at the Baker Bowl, reports "Philadelphia Phillies Ball Park, Season Ticket 1896" in black type, with "72" stamped in red on the front and "235" in black on the back. Originally issued as part of a season ticket booklet. NRMT.
