    Description

1911 Albert Spalding Signed "America's National Game" Hardcover Book, PSA/DNA NM-MT 8. Though a forty dollar per week contract in 1867 technically secured seventeen-year old A.G. Spalding's services as a clerk, more truthfully he was recruited to play for the Chicago Excelsior baseball team, making him one of the sport's first professionals. Still a household name today for the sporting goods empire he began, Spalding is enshrined at Cooperstown as one of the game's most noteworthy pioneers. Now, a little more than a century since his passing, most Hall of Fame autograph collections find him absent, and we're happy to remedy this problem for one lucky winning bidder.

This fine (minus dust jacket) first edition volume is inscribed and signed, "To C.A. Brandenburg with my compliments, A.G. Spalding, New York, Oct. 24, 1911." Black fountain pen ink rates 9/10. One of the nicest Spalding signed books we've handled, this beauty rates a solid EX overall condition. Full Grading LOA from PSA/DNA, NM-MT 8. Full LOA from SGC Authentic.
