Description

1907 Detroit Tigers American League Champions "Detroit Free Press" Newspaper.
Prior to the start of the '07 season Detroit manager Hughie Jennings tried to trade a 20-year old Ty Cobb to the Cleveland Naps in exchange for Elmer Flick. Luckily for the Tigers they were rebuffed in their attempt. Cobb would lead the league in hits, RBIs, stolen bases, batting average, slugging percentage, OPS, and total bases and become a superstar. The Tigers would take the American League by 1.5 games over the Athletics, but fall in the World Series to the Cubs.

This offered Detroit Free Press newspaper comes from the midst of the World Series, honoring the Tigers for taking the pennant. The six-page "pennant section" features multiple images of Cobb as well as Sam Crawford and Jennings. Moderate-to-heavy wear is visible throughout on the 18x22" document, but it still displays well.
