1888 "Harper's Weekly" Page with Baseball Content. Two 19th century players are represented in the offered page from an 1888 edition of Harper's Weekly. Tim Keefe and Buck Ewing are each handsomely depicted on this page, which has been framed to final dimensions of 12x16". Included is an article addressing the recent close of the baseball season, which the pictured New York Giants enjoyed as pennant-winners of the league. The lengthy text lends much insight into the blossoming game during its developmental stages -- discussion is levied into the advantages the pitcher has over the batter and the recent realization of the potential financial benefits the sport could afford. Has been preserved to splendid condition, with no detractors from condition to speak of.
