1886-1931 Spalding, Reach & More Early Baseball Guides Lot of 32. "Pub" collectors will rejoice at this sizeable offering of early guides capturing the essence of the Dead Ball Days (and beyond). Only two of the thirty-two publications were issued after 1920, with fourteen dating all the way back to the nineteenth century. The list is as follows: Reach Official American League Base Ball Guide (1887, 1889, 1890, 1891, 1892, 1894, 1899, 1906, 1909, 1910, 1911, 1912, 1914, 1916, 1917, 1918, 1919, 1920, 1921), Spalding's Official Base Ball Guide (1887, 1888, 1893, 1901, 1903, 1905, 1908, 1931). Rounding out the collection are American Association vs. League 1886, Reach's Official Southern League 1887, Base Ball Organization for 1887, Player's National League Official Guide 1890 and A Brief History of Baseball 1908. All have been rebound in hard covers with gilded lettering, and while several appear to be missing their original covers, most are complete and rather nicely preserved. A tremendous resource for the serious baseball historian.
