Description

1960 Pittsburgh Pirates Team Signed World Series Program. Featuring a walk-off home run that ranks only behind Bobby Thomson's "Shot Heard 'round the World" in baseball lore, the 1960 World Series still remains a sore subject for Yankee fans almost a half century later. Adding insult to that injury, one Pirates fan visiting the Bronx that October turned his official program into an autograph album, gaining the signatures of twenty-seven World Champion Bucs. Game Seven hero Mazeroski is here, as is fellow Hall of Famer Clemente, Friend, Law, Haddix, Mizell, Virdon, Groat, Hoak and more. Also found within the pages are NL president Warren Giles and the great George Sisler. All signatures rate 9/10 or better in blue ballpoint ink. The program shows a significant amount of wear, with loose covers and occasional loose pages, including page 4-5 which is missing entirely. These concerns do not affect the autograph quality however, which faithfully documents one of the most memorable Series in more than a century of Fall Classic history. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
