Description
1951 Cy Young, Mel Ott & Jimmie Foxx Signed Program. Perhaps the greatest baseball summit of the post-war era was held in the Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in early February of 1951, as The New York Chapter Baseball Writers' Association of America honored the game's greats. Though the hundreds of banquet tables were populated by Hall of Famers like Branch Rickey, Leo Durocher and Bill McKechnie, the men on the dais were the only figures given the honor of signing this program's cover. Presented in 8/10 or better pencil are Cy Young, Mel Ott, Jimmie Foxx, Pie Traynor, Ed Walsh, Tris Speaker and George Sisler. The program exhibits the effects of earlier scrapbook adhesion, but to no real detriment. A special relic from an event we'd give our right arms to attend. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
