1938 New York Yankees vs. Chicago Cubs World Series Program. The Lou Gehrig/Joe DiMaggio tandem on the New York Yankees would combine for their third and final consecutive World Series championship in 1938. Although the team would go on to win the following year, as well, it would be without the play of Gehrig. The team swept the Chicago Cubs in four games in 1938 as they established themselves as the most dominant team in baseball in the era.
