Description

1926 New York Yankees Team Signed World Series Program Page. Easily a five-figure prize in strong condition, the offered page removed from a Fall Classic program is brought down to the mortal realm by the passing of decades, which has stripped the signatures of most of their boldness. Happily, the Gehrig signature is the Iron Horse of the gang, surviving at a still impressive 7/10. Next boldest are the tragic Urban Shocker at top right, registering at 3/10, and Aaron Ward, a point higher. All the rest, including Ruth, Lazzeri, Hoyt, Pennock and Combs, teeter on the brink of invisibility, though are still discernible upon close inspection. Some water staining at lower right is of minor concern. The Gehrig alone is worth the price of admission here, though, so it's perfectly legitimate to consider this a glass half full. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
