1909 Philadelphia A's vs. Boston Red Sox Opening Of Shibe Park Program. One of the historic ballparks of the 20th Century, Shibe Park in Philadelphia was the first concrete and steel stadium. Named for the Athletics' owners, the park was opened April 12, 1909 against the Boston Red Sox. The offered program offers one collector the opportunity to pick up this rare program for a fraction of the price, as it is missing the original cover. One page is also loose inside. With full programs selling well into the thousands, this copy still provides all of the stories, statistics and biographies inside, making it a fascinating read for fans of old ballparks.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
