1879 Boston Red Caps vs. Providence Grays Scorecard. The National League's two top ballclubs battled it out at South End Grounds in Boston on September 23, 1879 with Harry Wright's Red Caps besting his brother George Wright's Grays by a tally of 7-3. Also playing for the Grays that day were two more future Hall of Famers, namely Jim O'Rourke and John Ward. Nicely scored and annotated in pencil and ink. An early and rare exemplar.Auction Info
