    Description

1932 World Series Press Pin - New York Yankees. Beginning as an office boy at Jacob Ruppert's brewery in 1911, Fred Linder became the manifestation of the American Dream as his hard work over the decades saw him climb the ranks of both of the Colonel's main business enterprises. Beer and baseball served Linder very well, as he reached top executive positions in both Ruppert's brewery and the front office of the New York Yankees, where he served as the team treasurer. His affiliation with the latter spawned the fabulous collection of press pins offered in this Sunday Internet Sports auction, and recount a lifetime of baseball memories from the most glorious days the Bronx has ever seen.

It's a Series best remembered for the Babe's "Called Shot," though this fine specimen saw action during the home half of the Bombers' four-game sweep. The lucky journalist wearing this pin bore witness to Ruth's final October appearance in pinstripes, as the Bambino would never be part of another pennant-winning club. Condition is solid, with very little wear or discoloration. Baseball in center displays a small blemish. It's original "Dieges & Cust" back fastener still remains.
