1932 Chicago Cubs World Series Press Pin. Another classic Cubs pin featuring the bat-toting bear cub, this example even includes the original backing cardboard, suggesting the care with which it has been maintained for the past eighty-two years. In this 1932 Fall Classic, the Cubs were seriously outmatched by the New York Yankees, who swept the series in four games. It would also serve as the backdrop for the most famous home run in World Series history, when Babe Ruth called his shot in game three. A staggering thirteen future Hall of Famers would take part in this match-up. Typical pigmentation issues in the white enamel are found on this piece, albeit a minor distraction. Enamel is free of porosity and pitting and the black surrounding enamel is in excellent condition. Back is marked "Dieges & Clust" and "G.F." (gold-filled). The gold plating is in stellar condition without wear or tarnish.
