Very Rare 1924 National Association of Professional Base Ball Leagues - Washington Senators Team Premium. It was 1924, fans of the Washington Senators were suffering the same "wait 'til next year" blues that modern day Chicago Cubs fans suffer from. But 1924 would become a historic year in DC as the Senators grabbed the American League pennant thanks in large part to the bats of Joe Judge (.324), Sam Rice (.334) and Goose Goslin (.344) and the arm of the 1924 American League MVP hurler Walter Johnson. "The Big Train" went 23-7 with 158 strikeouts, a 2.72 ERA and a .767 winning percentage. The toast of baseball, the team was honored with this very are real photo premium produced by Wright & Ditson-Victor Co. for attendees of the "National Association of Professional Base Ball Leagues" annual meeting in Hartford, CT in December of '24. This approx. 7 x 9-1/2" sepia photo features 24 players and team President Clarke Griffith who surround a full-figure portrait of Walter Johnson. There is some minor surface dimpling and light creasing. The lower right corner has a piece missing, the back has paper and glue spot stains. See web site for more information.

    More Information:

The item is attributed to an unnamed roommate of Pinky Hargrave, the back reads, "This picture was given to me at the Banquet in Hartford, Connecticut at the Bond Hotel; on Asylum Street, year of 1924. I was with the Waterbury Club, Double AA, Eastern League in 1920 - Pinky Hargrave in the picture was my room mate." A scarce relic recognizing Washington's first and only World Series victory.
